About

Based in Washington state, I work in software development for Adobe, Inc. and also as a TriDot coach. I've been doing triathlons since 2017. I have been coaching with TriDot since the beginning of 2022 and have coached several athletes to their first 70.3 and Full Ironman finishes. I've competed in numerous triathlons, mostly on the west coast, ranging from Olympic distances up to the full 140.6 Ironman. I love the sport and the community.

Philosophy

It is all about improvement and connection. Yes, we can compete with ourselves and that is definitely the measure of improvement - Did I do better than last time? Did I achieve the goals I set for myself? You're either crushing it or you're learning, there is no losing... ...unless you didn't learn anything. Without others competing with you or cheering your on, it can be meaningless and the biggest improvements often come when working with other athletes and a coach, I'm both. I love coaching all ranges of athletes to improve and achieve their goals, and even explore beyond what they thought was possible. I have seen time and time again athletes that I've coached, achieve much more than they "thought" they could. I love that!!! Let's get very specific about "what" you want to accomplish and uncover your "why". Let's work together to develop the plan on how we're going to get you to where you want to be.

Experience

I was a competitive swimmer from age 9 through college where I swam on a full scholarship at the University of California, Berkeley. After my collegiate swimming ended, I decided to give back and coached high school swimming for number of years, taking my team to the State Championships every year. During this time I also studied Tae Kwon Do and competed in obstacle course races such as Tough Mudder and Spartan. I also threw in some GoRuck challenge endurance events before diving into the world of triathlon. Christian, husband and father of two boys. I love the outdoors and being active. If I go more than a week without some form of exercise, I'm not fit for human consumption. This athletic drive allowed me to compete as a collegiate Division 1 swimmer at the University of California, Berkeley where I competed in the NCAA Championships all 4 years. I graduated with a Bachelor's in Fine Arts and went on to receive and Associates degree in Multimedia and Communication before joining the Photoshop team at Adobe, Inc. where I still work to this day as a Senior Quality Engineer.
