My name is James, I live in Portsmouth, UK. I am a former infantry soldier in the British Army (6 years) and served as a full time fire fighter for 15 years. This has taught me the value of structured training, risk management and the mental fortitude to push past limits. I pair that disciplined, safety-conscious approach with a deep understanding of endurance training to create highly personal, sustainable plans. I'm an active Triathlete and cyclist, competing in middle and long distance triathlons as well as holding a Cat 2 British cycling licence. I balance these endeavours with camping with my family and 2 miniature sausage dogs, paddle boarding, fishing, motorcycle track days.
Philosophy
whether you're looking to complete your first triathlon race, finally conquer a full distance event or qualify for the world championship, I'm here to guide you with proven, peer reviewed methods. help you navigate the mine field of misinformation out there and get the best out of your self. I believe the best way to build trust is to not just tell you what you should be doing, but explain how to execute the training and arguably the most import part. Explain why! this give you the athlete confidence in the plan and is a tool you can use for the rest of your life. You can expect a good balance of a Scientific approach to training while keeping the human and psychological understanding to manage "Life stresses" outside of training which is often over looked.
