My athletic achievements mirror my commitment to the sport. I am a proud finisher of over five full Ironman races, including the prestigious Kona. Additionally, I have completed more than thirteen marathons, demonstrating my love for long-distance running. My strengths extend beyond athleticism into planning and organization. I have successfully built a running community in Curacao, organizing parkruns and uniting local triathletes. I take pride in arranging group travels to races, fostering a sense of community and shared ambition among the athletes. Beyond my athletic pursuits, I have a passion for travel and adventure. My family and I often combine races with vacations, creating memorable 'racecations'. This unique blend of competition and leisure allows us to explore new destinations and cultures, enriching our experiences as a family. We also share a love for scuba diving, which has become a cherished activity for our family. My enthusiasm for sports, coupled with my organizational abilities, has allowed me to play a meaningful role in the world of endurance sports.
Philosophy
As a coach, my philosophy is rooted in the belief that every athlete is unique, with their own set of strengths, challenges, and aspirations. I approach coaching with a personalized touch, understanding that what works for one athlete may not work for another. My goal is to develop training plans that are not only effective but also enjoyable and sustainable, recognizing the importance of balance in an athlete's life. I emphasize the importance of holistic development, focusing not just on physical training but also on mental strength, nutrition, and recovery. I believe that a well-rounded approach is key to long-term success and well-being in any sport. My experience as a gymnast and a triathlete has taught me that discipline, perseverance, and adaptability are essential qualities in sports, and I strive to instill these values in my athletes. Communication is a cornerstone of my coaching style. I encourage open and honest dialogue to ensure that I am continuously in tune with my athletes' needs and progress. This helps me to make necessary adjustments to their training plans and provide support and motivation when needed. Lastly, I am deeply committed to creating a supportive and inclusive community. I believe that the camaraderie and mutual encouragement found in a team environment can significantly enhance an athlete's experience and performance. My aim is to foster a sense of belonging and togetherness among my athletes, where everyone feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential.

Experience
I was born and raised in the Netherlands, where my journey in sports began. As a child, I developed a passion for gymnastics, and with my team, I won several national titles, a testament to our hard work and dedication. I started teaching gymnastics at the age of 12 as a junior coach, and by the time I was 16, I was leading my own teams. This early experience in coaching shaped my approach to teamwork and mentorship. Ten years ago, I made a significant life change and moved to the Caribbean. This transition marked a new chapter in my life. After having children, I found myself struggling with my weight and had developed a in unhealthy lifestyle. However, inspired by another athlete, I decided to turn my life around and started running. This was the beginning of a transformative journey. Soon, I ventured into swimming and biking, and before I knew it, a triathlete was born within me. I was captivated by the triathlon community and their spirit, which resonated deeply with my own passion for sports. This led me to leverage my coaching skills to help other athletes. Today, I am proud to coach a diverse group of athletes, ranging from first-timers to age group podium chasers. My background in gymnastics and my personal journey in triathlon have given me a unique perspective that I bring to my coaching, helping others achieve their goals and find joy in the sport. I am a dedicated mother of two teenagers, living on the beautiful island of Curacao in the southern Caribbean. Fluent in both Dutch and English, I embrace the unique cultural and linguistic diversity of my home. My passion for endurance sports is a defining aspect of my life, as is my commitment to homeschooling my children, ensuring they receive a personalized and enriching education. As an Ironman Certified Coach and a USAT Level 1 Coach, I have honed my skills and knowledge to guide athletes towards their goals. My expertise is not limited to coaching alone; I am also a nutrition coach, sports nutrition coach, expert in precision hydration, and a Stryd coach. This broad spectrum of specialties enables me to provide holistic and tailored guidance to athletes at various stages of their journey.
