Philosophy
Your goals matter. So does the life you’re building around them. I believe you can pursue ambitious goals in triathlon while making time for the people and priorities that matter most. My job is to understand what you want to achieve, what your life demands, and how we can build a sustainable path forward. Coach the whole person. Your training tells only part of the story. Sleep, stress, work, family, nutrition, and recovery all influence how you feel and perform. I listen, ask questions, and adapt your training to help you make meaningful progress through both predictable routines and unpredictable weeks. Build consistency with purpose. Every session should have a purpose, and you should understand how it supports your goals. I combine science with coaching experience and your feedback to guide decisions. Together, we build consistency, adjust when needed, and recognize when recovery is the most productive choice. Make nutrition and strength part of the foundation. Fueling, strength training, and recovery belong alongside swimming, cycling, and running from the beginning. I help you develop practical habits that support your training and health, then practice race-day strategies so you arrive prepared and confident. Create a partnership built on trust. You should feel comfortable asking questions, sharing concerns, and being honest about how training is going. You can expect clear communication, thoughtful feedback, and accountability from me. We’ll celebrate breakthroughs and work through setbacks together, using both as opportunities to learn. My goal is to help you become a stronger, more confident athlete through purposeful training, practical fueling strategies, and coaching that fits your life.

Experience
Kathy’s interest in fitness and human performance began in the late 1980s with a fascination that still shapes her coaching: how training and nutrition work together to improve athletic performance. In 2008, she turned that interest into a profession, earning certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and founding a strength and conditioning studio. Working with athletes across multiple sports and competitive levels gave her a strong foundation in building strength, developing fitness, and adapting training to individual needs. Completing her first IRONMAN added a new dimension to that experience. Kathy understood firsthand the preparation, commitment, and confidence required to take on an endurance challenge and found a passion for helping others achieve goals they once thought were beyond their reach. In 2016, she made triathlon coaching her professional focus. As her endurance coaching practice grew, Kathy deepened her expertise with certifications in sports nutrition and metabolic efficiency. Today, she brings that knowledge into every stage of training, helping athletes connect daily fueling and recovery habits with the demands of race day. "Experience shapes my coaching. Continued learning strengthens it." That belief guides Kathy’s ongoing education in endurance training, nutrition, strength, and recovery. Through coaching mastermind groups and advanced professional development, she continues to refine her approach, giving her athletes the benefit of both practical experience and an ongoing commitment to learning.
