About

My journey in health and fitness began in middle school when I first competed in cross country. I quickly saw improvement and continued running throughout high school and college. After earning my degree in Health and Physical Education, I started competing in local 5K and 10K races, as well as a few sprint triathlons. During this time, I became increasingly frustrated with swimming, and balancing all the training demands felt overwhelming. For the next 20 years, I focused on running and cycling, competing in marathons, ultramarathons, and mountain biking events. Eventually, I taught myself to swim — although not very well at first — and gradually returned to triathlon competition. With time and persistence, I developed the confidence to complete an Ironman-distance event. While swimming remains a challenge, I have developed a deep passion for fitness, health, nutrition, and evidence-based training, and I am committed to continuing my journey of learning and growth. Outside of training, coaching, and teaching, I spend as much time as possible with my soulmate and best friend, Erik. We love going on adventures in our SxS and spending time with friends and family. We also enjoy working together in our yard. When the weather turns cold or yucky, I retreat to my stained glass shop — my favorite place to unwind. I’ve been fascinated by glass and stained glass for as long as I can remember, and working in my shop is truly my calming, quiet time. As a coach I believe triathlon training should fit your life—not the other way around. My coaching is designed especially for women navigating the demands of careers, families, and shifting hormones in their 30s to 50s. Whether you’re new to the sport or chasing a personal best, I meet you where you are and help you train with purpose, flexibility, and confidence. I combine smart, sustainable training plans with mindset coaching and real-life support—because peak performance isn’t just about the workouts. It’s about feeling empowered in your body, trusting your training, and showing up for yourself, day after day. You’re not just training for a race. You’re building strength, resilience, and balance—on and off the course. And I’m here for all of it.

Philosophy

I am passionate about helping clients navigate their fitness journeys, improve their physical health, build lasting habits, and achieve their personal goals. With a lifetime of experience in fitness and athletics at all levels, I bring a deep understanding and practical knowledge to my coaching. As a Physical Education teacher, I have developed the ability to simplify fitness concepts and make health and wellness accessible and manageable for everyone. My diverse experiences allow me to connect with clients on a personal level, offering guidance and support based on real-world understanding and empathy. At Balanced Fitness & Coaching, I believe that triathlon training should support your whole life—not take it over. Our approach is built on the understanding that women in their 30s to 50s are balancing more than just swim, bike, and run. Hormonal shifts, career demands, family responsibilities—these are real, and your training should honor them. I coach with compassion, science, and strategy—crafting personalized plans that adapt to your body, your schedule, and your goals. I value progress over perfection, consistency over intensity, and mindset just as much as mileage. This isn’t about grinding harder. It’s about training smarter, listening deeper, and building strength that lasts—inside and out. Because when you feel empowered in your training, you feel empowered everywhere.

Credentials

Along with an undergraduate degree in Health and Physical Education, I also have M.Ed. focused in Elementary P.E., NSCA-CPT, and am Ironman U Certified.

Accomplishments

I bring years of experience as a certified triathlon coach and endurance athlete, with race finishes ranging from sprint to full-distance triathlons. My competitive background includes State and National-level competitions in Cross Country and Track & Field, as well as numerous marathons, ultra-marathons, and more triathlons than I can count. * But the real accomplishments for me are… * First-time triathletes crossing the finish line stronger than they believed possible *Moms rediscovering their athletic identity after years away from sport Athletes hitting personal records—physically and mentally—without burning out

Experience

With years of hands-on coaching and a deep understanding of the unique needs of women in their 30s to 50s, I bring both passion and perspective to triathlon training. As a seasoned triathlete I knows what it takes to train for everything from sprint races to full Ironman distances—while juggling real life. I’ve coached women through their first triathlons, guided athletes back from injury or burnout, and supported countless clients through the ups and downs of training. What sets me apart is my ability to blend structured, results-driven training with empathy, flexibility, and real-life practicality. My athletes don’t just get a training plan—they get a partner who listens, adjusts, and supports them every step of the way. From first finish lines to lifelong fitness, My experience is rooted in helping women build strength, confidence, and balance—on the course and off.
