ESCI Level 2About
I have a deep love for both triathlon and trail running, and I thoroughly enjoy helping others find that passion in endurance sports as well. Triathlon and endurance running can be daunting sports to get into, grow within and stay healthy over the long-term; this is why I chose to become an endurance sports coach. I initially started taking classes simply for my own growth, but discovered along the way a deep love of watching others figure it out, grow and find passion too.
Philosophy
I believe that YOU are the center to your own training, and I want you to be involved in every step of your progress. I thoroughly believe in you and your ability to get to the finish line - it doesn't matter if you are a podium finisher, a back of the packer or a newbie to sport ... YOU ARE AN ATHLETE and I look forward to getting to know you and help you grow. I want to help you achieve your goals - all I ask in return is passion and dedication. Nothing makes me prouder than to see you accomplish what you set out to achieve; and nothing makes me feel more gratified than when you choose to sign up again - or go even bigger.

Experience
I have been running for as long as I can remember. Since 1992, I have raced High School Cross Country, numerous 5ks, 10ks and Half Marathons, 5 x Marathons and 2 x Ultra-Marathons. I have been a triathlete since 2002, starting with multiple sprint and Olympic distance, moving up to long course in 2018 with 8 x Half Ironman and 4 Full Ironman distances, with my first Ultraman Triathlon in 2024. I was born and raised in Wheat Ridge, Colorado where you could always find me outside in a pool, on a BMX dirt bike or running wild through the streets. I joined the US Navy as a Damage Controlman (firefighter) in 1999, and eventually earned my commission as a Naval Flight Officer in 2005. After two ship deployments and 2 overseas tours of duty, I retired in 2019 in Phoenix, AZ where I currently reside. I am currently the owner and head coach of AZ Desert Endurance, an endurance sports coaching service for triathlon, running and ultra-running – solely powered by TriDot and RunDot. I have enjoyed coaching a wide variety of athletes since 2019, from first time racers trying to cross that finish line for the first time to age groupers looking to obtain their personal best or qualify for their goal race.
