ESCI Level 2About
My journey began with a passion for running, completing numerous marathons and half marathons, and eventually to the prestigious Boston Marathon in 2019. However, it was my transition to triathlons that genuinely tested his mindset. I faced a significant challenge during my first 140.6 Ironman race in Texas in 2013. A lack of structured training and nutrition knowledge led to dehydration and the need for assistance mid-race. This setback, however, did not deter me. Instead, it fueled my determination to succeed. The following year, I returned to the same race to complete it and begin a streak of successful finishes in full Ironman and shorter distance races, often achieving podium positions. My experience highlights the importance of structured training and nutrition in endurance sports. In 2019, I fully embraced TriDot Training, a decision that marked a turning point in my career. By May 2020, my expertise and passion for the sport had led me to become a coach with TriDot, where I could share my valuable insights and experiences with others. Today, I am not just a seasoned athlete but also a mentor and an inspiration to those entering the triathlon sport. My story encourages athletes to persevere through challenges, learn from their experiences, and strive for continuous improvement. It's a reminder that with the right mindset and support, personal goals are not just dreams, but milestones waiting to be achieved. My journey is a powerful narrative of how setbacks can lead to greater success!
Philosophy
The TriDot approach stands out in athletic coaching for its structured yet flexible training programs. This method is not a one-size-fits-all; it's a tailored experience that adapts to each athlete's unique needs. The focus is on honing technique and enhancing basic cardiovascular fitness, which is essential for any athlete aiming for peak performance. My collaborative coaching philosophy at the core of TriDot is what sets it apart. It's a partnership where the coach and athlete work in unison to reach the athlete's goals. This synergy fosters an environment where the athlete feels valued and understood, boosting their motivation and commitment to the training process. A growth mindset is the cornerstone of my coaching style. It's about inspiring confidence and nurturing the athlete's hidden talent. The goal is to help athletes become the best versions of themselves, not just in their sport but in all aspects of life. This involves setting specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound SMART goals

Experience
I retired from a full-time career in the oil and gas industry in December 2020. Throughout my career, I traveled extensively. While working full-time, I also served as a running coach with USA Fit, helping runners prepare for the Houston Marathon every fall. As I approached retirement, I wanted to pursue a coaching certification that would enhance my running background, so I earned my certification through IRONMAN U. Once I joined TriDot as a coach, I completed additional certifications, including the TriDot Pool School Certification and the TriDot Training Certification. Additionally, I am a USAT-certified course Official.
